When considering reclaimed water or a water reuse system, the first thing we think about is sending the water to a utility. Often the bigger task may be to match the quantity and quality of reclaimed water to different utilities and their needs. Often more water can be recovered than the sum of all consumption points.
When reclaimed water systems achieve a high water consumption rate, consumption points can be fully allocated. This means that further volumetric recovery is halted and additional reclaimed water is sent to the front of the effluent treatment system to the plant; thus ending up as a product / ingredient water.
This webinar will guide participants through the technology of the unit operations that make up the reclaimed water system. In addition, risk management processes such as hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) will be discussed.
Water recycling challenges can range from a range of regulatory requirements, stakeholder communication, and practical and technical challenges such as reused water quantity and quality, technology and economics. The featured speaker will discuss the following topics: Typical requests from food and drink producers regarding water reuse; Complex and changing regulatory environment; Technologies available to help solve problems related to water reuse; And the example of a snack manufacturer turning to a “net zero” environmental footprint.
