2. Tacos a Go Go

 How They Are Helping

Tacos are amazing and what Tacos a Go Go is doing for the frontline healthcare workers is even more remarkable. They are collecting donations and will match all money raised by providing meals for local nurses, doctors and first responders.

If you want to help, go to Tacos a Go Go’s website and for every $5 donated, they will prepare and personally deliver a meal to a first responder.

3. Alforno’s Italian Kitchen

How They Are Helping

Alforno’s Italian Kitchen located in Flower Mound, Texas. It’s a family-owned restaurant that opened in 1996. They took on the labor of providing pizza to the whole day and night shift staff of the Texas Presbyterian Hospital.

4. Dinner Bell Dallas

How They Are Helping

Dinner Bell Dallas is a nonprofit established by the Pecan Lounge that is providing low-cost, high-quality meals to healthcare workers, first responders, and support agencies. Additionally, by partnering with local restaurants to create meal options, they are able to provide financial assistance and business revenue to struggling small businesses and their staff.

5. Cafe Momentum

How They Are Helping

Cafe Momentum is delivering meals to local food insecure students and families in and around Dallas. Through their subsidiary Ruthie’s Food Truck, they have delivered over 56,000 meals. They have also begun to deliver meals to local healthcare facilities as well as the Dallas Police Department.

6. In-Fretta

How They Are Helping

Despite the economic turmoil,  In-Fretta has donated over 3,000 meals to those who have been affected by the Coronavirus. They are also supplying free meals for healthcare workers in and around Dallas.

7. Gather Kitchen

How They Are Helping

Soraya Spencer of Gather Kitchen most recently found success with her Comfort Food Care Packages – which help to feed families identified by the Family Tree Program. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, however, she has also added a Feed Our Healthcare Heroes option to her ordering site. This helped to not only provide healthcare workers with meals, but also is a way for her to keep paying her staff – who now come in twice a week for meal prep

8. Trinity Grove

How They Are Helping

Trinity Groves restaurant owners and staff are providing Food-Is-Love Care Kits to front-line medical workers. These kits are sponsored by individual donors, and include grocery staples such as butter, milk and eggs, as well as ready-made meal kits. So far, 125 kits have been delivered to UTSW, and now, they are looking to ramp up to a goal of supplying 100 kits per week to more local hospitals. All donations go directly to buying contents for these kits, which can be purchased as an add-on for $20 when ordering delivery and takeout from Trinity Groves restaurants.

9. DFW Eats & HG SPLY Co.

How They Are Helping

DFW Eats is currently serving family meals to those in need, which will be served curbside. These meals will vary, and will be determined by the ingredients they have on hand. They are now available at both Hero by HG SPLY CO and HG SPLY CO Greenville Ave every Monday thru Friday from 6pm to 9pm – where they will place it in the back of your car as a form of no-contact delivery.

10. Norma’s Cafe

How They Are Helping

Through their “Favor a Neighbor” campaign, Norma’s Cafe is supplying food to first responders, healthcare workers, and police officers across Texas. Customers who order food online are encouraged to also purchase a meal for a “neighbor” which Norma’s then delivers.

11. Pink Avocado Catering

How We Are Helping

Pink Avocado Catering is a custom catering company in Austin, TX known for making event dreams come true while using the freshest ingredients. During the pandemic, they are feeding healthcare workers by allowing customers to donate a single sized entree + sides for $10. Pink Avocado will match all the meals donated and drop meals off every Friday to different local hospitals.

12. Bistecca

How We Are Helping 

Bistecca is an Italian steakhouse that provides scrumptious pastas, fresh seafood, lamb, veal, and a full range of high-quality steaks. To help out healthcare workers, Bistecca is cooking and delivering three-course meals to local hospitals in and around the Lewisville area. They are currently accepting and matching all donations from customers.
