How They Are Helping

Mott Street has launched a campaign to help feed frontline healthcare workers. Customers can purchase meals for healthcare professionals on Mott’s website. Options include: 1 meal for $15, 5 meals for $75, 10 meals for $150, 20 meals for $300, and 35 meals for $500.

Mott Street also encourages customers to write a note to show support and encouragement to the healthcare heroes at the front line of this pandemic.

2. The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group

How They Are Helping

Tuesday through Sunday between 4-6:30 PM, the Fifty/50 Restaurant Group is giving away prepackaged meals to anyone in the community who needs them. Meals can be picked up at 2047 W Division St, Chicago, IL 60622. 

The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group has also partnered with the  Lee Initiative to deliver meals and care packages to those in the restaurant industry who have been furloughed/laid-off due to COVID. This program is available everyday from 4-6:30PM at West Town Bakery (1916 W Chicago Ave).

3. Lou Malnati’s

How They Are Helping

Lou Malnati’s started a GoFundMe campaign to help feed the healthcare workers, firefighters and police officers who are working to keep Chicago safe. For every dollar donated, Lou Malnati’s will provide twice the amount in food. For example, contribute $10 and we will deliver $20 worth of food to those on the front lines.

4. Vanille

How They Are Helping

At Vanille, they have rolled up their sleeves to create a meal sponsoring program where you can donate anywhere between $50 up to $200. Meals will be provided to essential workers. This includes healthcare facilities, police, fire stations and trucking companies.

5. WhereWithAll

How They Are Helping

WhereWithAll, located in Avondale neighborhood, Chicago, is providing meals to healthcare workers at the Swedish Covenant Hospital and they are taking contributions to support this effort. Additionally, they set up an employee relief fund using GoFundMe to support employees that had to be temporarily laid off.

6. Happy Camper & Homeslice

How They Are Helping

Happy Camper and Homeslice are two Chicago pizza shops that are making it very easy to send meals to healthcare workers. On both restaurants’ Grubhub pages, you will find an $11 menu item called “Buy a meal for a healthcare worker/volunteer.” The meals you purchase will go directly to those on the frontlines.

7. Gia Mia

How They Are Helping 

Gia Mia offers guests of all ages a wide variety of menu choices like wood-fired pizzas, pastas, small plates, seafood, and greens. To help employees who have been affected by Covid-19, they are donating 25% of all gift card sales to their hourly staff.

How They Are Helping

Livia Italian Eatery offers classic Italian cuisine, all cooked from locally sourced organic ingredients. To help out employees who have lost their jobs due to the pandemic, they are donating 25% of all gift card sales to their staff.

How They Are Helping

Lettuce Entertain You is a restaurant group that owns, manages, and licenses a variety of establishments throughout the Chicago metropolitan area. They have set up a GoFundMe campaign in order to provide financial support to their employees during this national health emergency.
