Alice’s Restaurant is located in Woodside, California. You can find gourmet burgers and sweet potato fries, scrumptious scrambles, or homemade pie, all made with locally sourced ingredients. They are currently selling gift cards that will be made available for other diners who can’t afford to cover the cost of their meals. Alice’s Restaurant was able to raise $1,000 in a single day.

2. Flights Restaurants

How They Are Helping

Flights Restaurants serves comfort food tapas, prepared with high-quality ingredients while also having vegetarian and vegan options on their menu.

Amid the pandemic, they have turned their restaurants into a no-touch, drive-through grocery store, which allows you to get food, groceries and cleaning supplies. Additionally, they provide free hot meals to local non-profit agencies, food banks, shut-in senior citizens and low-income families in Los Gatos. Flights Restaurants also provides emergency funds to local restaurant and retail workers who find themselves without employment during the crisis.

3. Taverna

How They Are Helping

Taverna was founded in April 2018 and it’s located in Palo Alto. Taverna blends rustic origins with modern refinement. Currently, they are offering a To-Go Menu and a Family Meal Menu while their dining room is closed. Taverna is also donating meals for those in need, with no questions asked.

4. Tootsie’s at the Stanford Barn

How They Are Helping

Tootsie’s is just outside the Stanford Mall in Palo Alto. It is a rustic brick building with indoor and outdoor seating. They serve breakfast with a large variety of coffee options, brunch, and lunch with an Italian twist.

On their site, they allow you to order breakfast or lunch which will be offered to healthcare professionals. You can even choose a specific department or Tootsie’s will contact the hospital to make sure which departments need these meals the most.

5. Employees Only

How They Are Helping

Employees Only are providing free “Staff Meal” to members of the  Los Angeles community. 100 meals are distributed everyday at the restaurant’s West Hollywood location (7953 Santa Monica Blvd). Employees Only ask that you present ID and proof of recent employment at a restaurant, bar, hotel, or hospital upon arrival.

6. Mozza Restaurant Group

How They Are Helping

In conjunction with the Lee Initiative, Mozzaplex is turning their restaurant into a relief center for those who are in dire need of food and supplies. Residents of Los Angeles can visit 6610 Melrose Ave between 5:30 pm to 8:30pm nightly to pick up a to-go family dinner.

Mozzaplex also has supplies on hand for those in need including: diapers, wipes, baby food, non-perishable canned foods and cereals, toilet paper, and Tylenol.

7. The Melt

How They Are Helping

Various Melt locations across the state of California are giving away free meals to hospital and medical staff with medical badges.

Locations include:

8. La Piazza

How They Are Helping

La Piazza is serving free meals to nurses, doctors, and first responders in the Los Angeles area. Pasta, pizza, and paninis are available for takeaway, Monday through Friday from 12 PM to 5 PM.

9. Apola Greek Grill

Apola Greek Grill in Yorba Linda and Irvine are offering essential groceries to the community in order to keep everyone employed and also make it easier for the community to find certain items that can’t be found in supermarkets right now.

10. number5kitchen

How They Are Helping

number5kitchen has partnered with Street Life Ministries to provide hot meals to those in need. Through their GoFundMe campaign, they are raising money to purchase meals for the homeless community in Silicon Valley. Meals are distributed weekly, with $100 in donations feeding 15 adults.
