American chicken restaurant chain Popeyes will soon be opening in Queen Street.
The chain, which was started 50 years ago in Louisiana by Al Copeland, has taken over a retail unit, which is now being fitted out.
Signs have gone up, and work is being carried out in the unit opposite Marks & Spencer.

It is understood the restaurant could be ready to open in about six weeks’ time.
The area around the entrance is cordoned off while building work takes place.
The chain’s website says: “Popeyes was founded in 1972 Louisiana by Al Copeland who dreamed of serving the best fried chicken.

There are already several Popeyes restaurants across London.
KFC in Cornmarket specialises in fried chicken and chicken restaurant chain Nando’s has branches in George Street and at Westgate.
