A Florida man has given away more than $13,000, along with notes containing special messages, to strangers he meets at his favourite restaurant, Waffle House.
Kevin Cate, a TV commercial creator, took to Twitter to share the story of the unnamed man’s kind gestures and generosity over the years.
“Saw this man sitting by himself at a Waffle House in Midway, Fla.,” Cate tweeted. “So, I said, ‘Hello,’ and asked him what he was doing with that money.”
Since 2014, the man has been “handing out $1s and $5s to strangers” at the restaurant, as well as other places.

“He said he’s given away more than $13,000 to strangers, kids, and people he meets at Waffle House (his favorite) and elsewhere,” Cate revealed.
“And they all come with that note you see in the picture,” Cate wrote. “He copies and cuts these out every few days.”

All the notes have the same words: “Love Every Body.”
“He told me those were the last three words his mother said to him,” Cate explained. “She didn’t say ‘I love you.’ She said ‘love every body.’ So that’s what I’m doing.”
Cate added: “Lastly, while he was alone, clearly his mom’s love is still with him and now all of us.”

The thread has hit more than 13 million people, according to Cate.
The consensus from most commenters, including likes from Jason Sudeikis and Ben Stiller, are of the “Thank you for sharing this” variety, though many are also sharing their own kind gestures and experiences from strangers.
