Raw beef, soy marinated crabs with soju cocktails are just some of the many things offered at this new Korean joint.

Daejim joins the huddle of Tanjong Pagar’s Korean restaurants on 4 Craig Road with an array of meats and seafood, both raw and cooked, inspired by traditional Korean pojangmacha aka street food stall tents spread across South Korea.

The meats come in several different cuts each, with some marinated in the joint’s special sauces. For beef, they have the Kkotsal (S$45) – prime cut boneless beef short rib, and the Yang Nyum Galbi (S$45), beef short rib with bone marinated in a savory-sweet sauce.

For pork, there’s the signature Dwaeji Galbi (S$25), or marinated pork finger rib, Sam-gyeob sal (S$25), thick pork belly from the Jeju black pig, and the Mok-sal (S$25), the collar cut off the black pig.

Their chicken comes in three flavors: the soy BBQ Dak Bulgogi (S$22), the spicy BBQ Yangnyeom Dak (S$22), and the salt BBQ Salt Chicken (S$18).

Moving on to seafood, guests can grill oysters, scallops and abalone with slabs of butter, as well as the Ojingeo-tonggui (S$28) – marinated spicy BBQ squid, the Jjukkumi Gui (S$35) – spicy grilled baby octopus, and the Janguhgui (S$48) – freshwater eel.

If you’re feeling adventurous, try the raw foods like the Beef Tartare/Yukhoe (S$35), the Ganjang Gejang (S$40) – soy-marinated raw crab, and Ganjang Saewoo (S$35) – soy-marinated raw prawns, that is popular in South Korea.

Other than that, there’s the usual soups, pancakes, fried chicken.

Just like their wide selection of food, their drinks section stacks up with soju, makgeolli, beers, and non-alcoholic beverages. Soju cocktails which go for S$18 each include six flavors like the Plum Sour and the Soju De Coco.

Sharing drinks include the Honeycomb Makgeolli (S$38) and the Yuzu/Grapefruit Soju Slushie (S$58).
