For the first time in 40 years, the National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) will be holding a conclave in Hyderabad

The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) Hyderabad chapter will be hosting the largest meeting of the Indian Restaurant Industry, the Indian Restaurant Conclave 2022 (TIRC) on September 13 at the Hyderabad International Convention Center. The one-day conference will see more than 1,000 delegates including restaurant industry influencers and renowned Indian restaurateurs like AD Singh, Riyaaz Amlani, Nitin Saluj, Racheal Goenka, Gautam Gupta, Priyanka Sukhika and many others participating. This is the first time NRAI is holding its AGM outside Delhi, in its first four decades.

The official opening of the NRAI Hyderabad chapter will be followed by panel discussions. The informative panel will cover a variety of topics affecting the restaurant industry, aimed at meeting the needs of CEOs and CXOs, chefs, owners, and various marketing teams. In addition to workshops, industry and leading experts from top brands in India will be discussing the future in the industry. The conclave will also witness over 50 speakers exploring topics relevant to the food and beverage industry. The conclave will have a large exhibition space and a plenary session with over 1000 delegates from over 26 cities.

At this conference, many students from different universities of hotel management are also expected to participate. The officials in the NRAI Hyderabad office say that at this meeting everyone is free to talk to the delegates and speakers.

Speaking about the conclave, chef Shankar Krishnamurthy says, “We will discuss the friendly rules in doing business from over-regulation and over-licensing, to the challenges faced while dealing with various authorities at the district and hyperlocal level. Hyderabad is the only chapter of NRAI that has been able to have an advisory board from the government consists of IAS and IPS officers. The whole idea behind this workshop is to educate the users and bridge the gap between the formal and informal organization in terms of food safety, hygiene, training and development for all.”

The NRAI established in 1982 represents over 5,00,000 restaurants, QSRs, bars, cloud kitchens and catering, pan India. With an estimated annual turnover of ₹4,23,865 crore the Indian restaurant industry employs over 73,000 people, making it the third largest employer sector in the country.

Stating that the meeting is open for all to learn about the industry and network, Shaaz Mehmood founder of NRAI Hyderabad and managing committee NRAI, National says, “We have a strong partnership with the Telangana government, so we are looking forward to signing many MoUs during the day, promising more National and international brands to set up restaurants those in Telangana. We also have Telangana Tourism participating by setting up a stall at the conference. A major Industry announcement is expected from the Telangana government for the food service sector, something like that has not been done anywhere in the country. We will be talking about our CSR program.”
