According to a new study from CashNetUSA, Chick-fil-A was named the best restaurant in 34 states and 27 of the nation’s biggest cities.
CashNetUSA gathered the data for the study in June and looked at the best fast-food chains across five categories: burgers, pizza, doughnuts, chicken and Mexican food.
The survey, which tallied thousands of reviews from Google Maps to determine what the top and bottom-rated restaurants were in the U.S., found that Chick-fil-A had the top average rating in 34 U.S. states and 27 big cities, surpassing all other fast-food chains. Chick-Fil-A was also the top chicken joint in 46 states, but it was out-ranked by Chicken joint Raising Cane in Boston, Chicago and Minneapolis.
Coming in second place is In-N-Out Burger, which had the highest rating in 12 big cities, 9 of which are in the brand’s home state of California. At the same time, however, In-N-Out does not have the same reach as other fast-food chains since it only operates in 7 states.
Conversely, Papa John’s was the lowest-rated chain in 16 states, while Domino’s was the lowest-rated fast food chain in 21 big cities.
The data also found that Five Guys was considered America’s favorite burger joint, while McDonald’s and Burger King tied for the country’s worst.
As Christian Headlines previously reported, Chick-fil-A was ranked at the top of America’s favorite restaurants, including among teens.
The popular chicken chain also topped the list for drive-thru satisfaction but finished last when it came to wait time.
Chick-fil-A was first founded in 1946 by the late Truett Cathy, a Southern Baptist whose religious beliefs influenced the company’s values, including being closed on Sundays.
According to Chick-fil-A’s website, the restaurant is led by Truett’s son and current chairman, Dan Cathy. His other son, Donald (Bubba) M. Cathy, serves as EVP, and his daughter Trudy Cathy White serves as ambassador.
